Benning's Journey

Kuasa Tuhan amatlah sangat besar, apapun yang terjadi kita tidak akan pernah tau. Selagi ada waktu, jadilah orang yang baik, orang yang bisa menjadi cahaya untuk keluarga dan untuk orang terdekat. Jadilah baik, jangan egois dan mengalir-lah seperti air.  Tuhan berikan semua hal di dunia ini dan karunia yang sangat besar. Keluarga yang utuh, pacar yang amat baik dan penyayang, pekerjaan yang sangat baik dan mulia, serta teman-teman yang selalu buat ceria. Selalu bersyukur, dan perlu diingat semua hal di dunia ini hanyalah titipan.

Here I come with a quarter-life crisis and many questions are popping up to my mind about life, graduate, jobs, thesis, boyfriend, family, and many more. As I come through this journey, in this stage of life I faced huge insecurity. Realizing myself is no longer that teenager that able to spend my 24/7 to chill nor to have fun. I have a huge plan to execute inside my mind. Then many more questions from my inner souls just come up and it goes along with the “what if questions”.  What if I fail to reach what I expect? What if I will be the only one who cants survive? What if my fate ends up useless? What if……. What if …….. What if ……… And many more. I tried to do some projections towards my future and what is my life vision for the next five years. I highly hope it will work someday. It’s a cold night with the rain outside. I am looking to my “to do list” note, and I notice that I have several works to get done (important but not urgent stuff). One of my resolutions in 2019 is maintaining my self-management to be as productive as possible. So, here I am sitting in front of a work desk with a well-set laptop, and ready to make those things done. While I am open up my laptop, and I look into my green name tag that currently hanging on my wall with the word YOLO (You only live once) sticking on that old memorable thing. I remember that my senior told me to write down the most favorite quote of all time on my name tag when the university orientation just started. I do strongly remember the terms YOLO, the word that I and some of my friends in senior high school often mention enjoying life when everything gets harder. “ YOLO guys, YOLO”. “Membaca” adalah se buah kata yang masih menjadi beban bagi pelajar. Terbukti dengan indeks membaca pelajar indonesia yang masih tergolong rendah yaitu berkisar 0,001 yang berarti hanya ada 1 diantara 10.000 orang yang memiliki ketertarikan dalam membaca (Lingga Pos, 2013) . Rendahnya minat baca tersebut tidak hanya dianut oleh anak-anak, namun juga dialami oleh kalangan pelajar atas, seperti mahasiswa yang merupakan agen dari perubahan. Beranjak dari fakta tersebut, bagaimana bisa Indonesia terlepas dari kebodohan? dan sampai kapan Indonesia akan mempertahankan eksistensi diri pada jeratan rantai kemiskinan yang semakin melanda?. As I grow up as a youth, I keep wondering to myself what I have already contributed to make better changes in this world. I am aware that, I am one of a young generation that needs to make some positive changes towards the environment and the society around me. I believe that young generation is a hundred percent of the future that should actively involve making a better world. There are a lot of issues in life aspect that need to fix on in this modern world such as international peace and security, human right, education, regional issues, sustainable development goals and so on. In order to fix this issues, young generation needs to have a better mind-set and a right perspective regarding the issues. Ironically, in recent years Indonesia experienced many losses in term of trees and woods.   The fact says that Indonesia bereave 684,000 hectares of forest due to illegal logging, forest fires, forest violation, and forest alteration by the year (Hendra). Furthermore, it would bring more harm than good for other living things such as animal, trees, and other creature that currently stay in the forest due to the losses of the trees as their living habitat. The survey has presented that Switzerland has been successfully lead the wealthy Western countries and always becoming the topped of the list every year since 2011. This is an outstanding achievement for Switzerland as the gold medalist for this seven years running. Here are the list of the top 10 world’s most innovative country in the world.
